Year 2 students have been investigating the properties of different materials and how they react when mixed together. Some of the chemistry experiments we’ve completed to explore this concept include making our own lava lamps, making slime and mixing liquids such as food colouring, milk and detergent. Students used a variety of maths skills to measure ingredients accurately, time how long reactions lasted and record and compare data about which reactions continued for the longest times.
